The American Revolution: Life on the Home Front in Chatham County
The American Revolution: Life on the Home Front in Chatham County
Sunday, November 2, 2025 (2:00 PM - 4:00 PM) (EST)
Description
As we approach the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution, most folks think first about the battles that took place. But the majority of people living through the Revolution were not fighters. Their focus was on day-to-day survival, complicated by shortages of food, salt, currency, and the knowledge that the war could show up any day on their doorstep.
Jim Morgan is a creator of the website AmRevNC, a website devoted to the history of the battles of the American Revolution that happened here, in North Carolina. He is a writer and journalist with a fierce interest and deep knowledge of the American Revolution and will explain what life was like in Chatham County for these “other revolutionaries” on the home front during the seven long years of war.
